Jim Storie, VCC alumnus, has been appointed Interim Chair of the VCC Board of Governors. Storie will lead the board in this role until October 2015 when a permanent Chair will be elected by the board.
He has a passion for VCC and has supported our institution as an active board member since 2008 and a director on the VCC Foundation Board since 2013.
Storie is President and CEO of the Vancouver Trolley Company and has generously donated his trolleys for the VCC Dental Assisting Annual Tooth Trolley event that provides free dental assessments and basic services to children and families in the VCC community.
He received his Bachelor of Hospitality Management at Vancouver Community College and also completed the Institute of Corporate Director's Governance essentials program where he obtained his ICD.D designation.
In addition, board member Rick Stokes has been appointed as Interim Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee. The permanent Chair will be appointed in October 2015.
Stokes has been a member of the Board of Governors and has sat on the Finance and Audit Committee since 2011. He is a former VP at Telus International and a former member of the Toronto Board of Trade. He has completed the Queens University Executive Development Program and the Canadian Board Diversity Council (CBDC), Governance Education Program.
