Upgrade your education in English, social sciences and the humanities to prepare yourself for today’s job market and for higher learning.
These courses cover topics such as reading, research, academic writing, grammar, vocabulary, critical thinking and media literacy. They can be used as prerequisites for VCC career and University Transfer programs as well as programs at other colleges and universities.
Self-paced classes include English 10, 11 and 12, Communications 12, Reading and Writing Skills, courses for entry into VCC career programs, and an ESL bridge course.

This program is tuition-free, however other fees (e.g. application fee, U-Pass fee) are still charged.

VCC welcomes applications from Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
As Vancouver Community College is a post-secondary institution committed to educating adult learners, applicants should be 16 years of age or older or a graduate of a secondary school.
Please note that you must submit official transcripts and educational documents to support your application; unfortunately, we cannot accept photocopies or fax versions.
Missing prerequisites? VCC offers courses in Adult Upgrading and English as an Additional Language to help you meet your goals.

Earn your Grade 12 diploma, improve your literacy skills or upgrade your academic qualifications to pursue further study and start a new career.
VCC offers a range of academic courses for adults designed to meet individual goals. Attend an information session to learn about our math, science, computer and English courses, meet our teachers, ask questions and learn how to apply.
Join us at VCC's Broadway campus, 1120 East 7 Avenue at Glen Drive, across from VCC/Clark SkyTrain station.
Adult Upgrading Grants are available to cover tuition for qualified students in 2015-16. Ask us more at an information session or contact VCC Financial Aid to find out if you qualify.
