External bursaries

Credit Union Foundation of B.C.
The Credit Union Foundation of B.C. provides Vancouver Community College students with several bursaries each year. Founded by and funded by credit union members, CUFBC awards are provided to B.C. resident post-secondary students in need of financial assistance to complete their education. Canada Study Grant for Part-Time Students
The Canada Study Grant for Part-Time Students assists those in part-time studies and whose income falls below a prescribed threshold. Funded by the federal government, it is limited to students who are enrolled in 20-59 per cent of a full-time post secondary cupeformcourse load. The grant covers tuition, books, supplies, transportation and child care expenses up a maximum amount of $1,200.00 per year.

Students eligible for this grant are:
  • those with a disability;
  • parents with primary financial responsibilities;
  • caring of an elderly dependant;
  • caring for a dependant with a disability

Applications for students attending public post-secondary schools must be given to the VCC Financial Aid Office for processing.



Vancouver Municipal, Education and Community Workers: CUPE Local 15 Dependent Bursary
An annual bursary $1000 is available to the legal dependants of current and retired Local 15 members. The award is based on financial need and academic standing in previous studies.
