Every donation to the Foundation, large or small, helps VCC students and its effect ripples outward into the community to their families, neighbourhoods and workplaces. Your choice to invest in the education of VCC students helps to ensure a better future for British Columbia and Canada. A gift to the VCC Foundation shows our students that the community is supportive of their efforts to gain the knowledge and the skills they need to find their place in the workforce. The Foundation works closely with all donors to ensure their charitable goals are met. Whether you choose to support a specific area of interest or to direct your contribution to the area of greatest need, you can be assured that the effect of your gift will be felt for many years to come.

What you can support:
Scholarships, Awards, and Bursaries
| Whether you want to support students in financial need or reward academic achievement, you can assist students in reaching their educational goals. There are various ways to establish an award: |

- Contribute to an existing award endowment - Establish a new endowment in perpetuity - Establish an endowed award "In Memory" or "In Honour" of someone close to you - Fund an award on an annual basis - Establish an award during your lifetime or provide a bequest in your will to provide for an award in the future. |
Capital Campaign
| VCC embarked on a journey that will affect the lives of many. VCC's Vision for the Future is bold and ambitious. It involves capital expansion projects that will double the physical size of the college and facilitate enrolment growth of more than 40 per cent. The priority needs and the first order of business involve alleviating current space pressure by: |
- Completing a new School of Health Sciences building, 125,000 square foot campus expansion - Enhancing and expanding student spaces at two campuses, including improved facilities for dental programs, student classrooms and labs, and the library. |
Alumni Giving
| Each year, VCC holds a fundraising campaign to support our students. You, as an alumnus can help us with a gift to an endowment of your choice. Interest earned from the investment of these funds help us create more student awards, build better libraries and enhance student resources. You may choose to support one or more funds by giving a gift to the area or program of your choice: |

How you can donate:
Gifts of Cash, Credit Card, Payroll Deduction
Your gift to VCC can be made using cash or credit card. You can choose to give annually or monthly and you will receive a charitable tax receipt for your donation.
If you are a faculty or staff member of VCC and would like to make a gift, you can choose to do so through payroll deduction.
Endowments
Scholarships and bursaries and special project funds can be funded through an endowment which generates monies in perpetuity. A minimum donation of $10,000 is required to establish an endowment. Ask about the Foundation's matching gift program for endowments.
Wills and Bequests
You may consider a bequest to VCC in your will. Legacy gifts are vitally important to VCC's vision to continue to be British Columbia's No. 1 college. Strategically planned charitable gifts can help VCC to plan for the future and help you to reduce final taxes payable from your estate.

Gifts of Securities
Tax savings are substantially greater when donating publicly traded securities directly to VCC rather than donating the cash proceeds from the sale of these same securities. In the May 2, 2006 federal budget, the government announced the elimination of the capital gains tax on such donations. Please contact us for more information on how to donate a gift of shares.
Gifts in Kind
Are you able to donate equipment and/or other items that VCC could use? If so, you could make a gift-in-kind donation. VCC will gladly accept any gifts-in-kind for which there is a use within the college. A donation receipt may be issued for the fair market value of the gift provided a third party evaluation of the gift is provided.
